As I have been struggling recently with PC’s family being completely out of line just before our wedding. These words really spoke to me.

3“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.

4“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

5“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.

6“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.

7“You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.

8“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

9“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.

10“You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.

11-12“Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.

Matthew 5: 1-12

Thank you, God, for all of my blessings.

Way back in September, Kevin and I welcomed a new addition to our family. Meet Lily!!!!

She is a pitbull/boxer mix and is a two year ball of love.

Such a cuddlebug!

Many apologies for being MIA for such a long time!
Things have finally slowed down a bit in my life. The holidays came and went. And Prince Charming now lives in MD with Zoey Kitten and me!

That just goes to show that change can be a good thing!

PC and I have had a great couple of months… post-hospital stay, of course! We’ve done some traveling–visiting Vermont for a long weekend, staying in Philly, going to Pittsburgh, visiting old friends. It’s been great!

Now that things have calmed down, and I’m not running around all the time, I hope to be able to work out a “schedule” for blogging. We’ll see how it goes.

Thanks for reading!

My favorite time of the year, like many other people, is Christmas. I love everything about it. I’ve been struggling to stay out of the stores since Friday!

One of my very favorite parts of the year is receiving Christmas cards. I really look forward to getting updates on those I love and care for, both near and far. If you add a newsletter or a picture of your kids/family… that’s just icing on the cake!

I’ve been searching for the “perfect” Christmas cards to send out this year. Prince Charming and I are all settled in together, and we’ve added Zoey Kitten to the mix. I take this all to mean that we are grown up enough (in our mid-to-late 20’s) to send out cards to our family and friends. So, I started searching a week or so ago for the “perfect” cards. Needless to say, many stores (and even Hallmark!) later, I’m home and I’m still empty-handed.

Luckily, Prince Charming and I had a photographer take some photos as gifts for our parents this year and I had been tossing around the idea of a photo memory book or calendar using those photos. I have heard many great things about Shutterfly from one of my friends who uses their photo books on a near regular basis, documenting each year of her children’s lives in one volume. She even has her favorite prints made into canvas wall art… I can’t wait to have kids and do the same!

I’m still thinking about making a photo book for myself and Prince Charming. I’m hoping we’ll be married in the future (hoping for sometime late next year) and would love to make a photo book about out relationship. We’ve done some really cool things.

However, for this year, I’m really thinking about making our parents each a photo calendar. I think it’s something they would really like and both of our sets of parents keep a family calendar in their respective kitchens. At least they can look at our happy family as they schedule their year!

What I am most excited about are holiday photo cards. Shutterfly offers so many options with holiday cards, whether you want a simple, understated card or a card that includes a brief summary of each persons year. You can choose religious cards and fun cards, even “vintage” Christmas cards. I love all the fun options!

Some of my favorites:

No Mistletoe Necessary

I absolutely love this card! PC and I just had some kissing photos done and I would love to use one with this card. I think our families would absolutely love it. I get excited just thinking about it! I think it would look great!

Our photo has us kissing, framed by a white heart. I think it would be beautiful.

Another that I love:

Snowflake Damask Holiday

I simply love the damask pattern on the left and the simplicity of this one. The snowflakes seem so peaceful! I think it would look great with our photos (we did them in black) or we could just use the black and white version of one of our photos! We took some great ones, so we will see!

Two others I considered:

I love the simplicity of the snowflakes, but also love the captions on the lower one. I have a feeling being indecisive is going to be a problem!

I really love all of the designs that Shutterfly offers. I can’t wait to get started and create my holiday cards and gifts with them this season!

Sorry for the lack of posting, folks. I’ve found myself admitted to the hospital for the past 3 days.

See you soon!

This weekend  I traveled to Lancaster and then to Williamsport.

I. Am. Tired. Of. Driving.

I had an appointment Friday afternoon and then immediately trekked to PC to help pack up the house since he is moving down here next Saturday. I can’t wait!

But I hate driving. And moving. And everything that goes along with it.

And I missed my kitten.

I drove all the way home today. Actually, past home and directly to Virginia to meet up with a friend from college.

We met at the LUSH store. OMG. I love, love, love LUSH.

If you have one near you, please go!

I love that their products are natural and have no preservatives. I have seriously never had such great hair before using their solid shampoo. I love that I can go away for a weekend and all I have to pack is a bar of shampoo. I can use it on my hair, body, even as a shaving cream. AWESOME.

Today was a special event where if you RSVPed, you got a free bath bomb. Then, if you spent $40, you got a free gift package worth about $30. Believe me, I had NO trouble spending $40.

I ended up getting some new bath bombs including their new one with pop rocks and glitter! I also got one for PC that is a blue robot (what do we think the probability of him using it is? I vote low). I also got new conditioner, a massage bar (peach–PC loves peach!), a mud bath moisture bar, a bath scrub bar, some new shower gel, a soap slice, and more!

It’s awesome. I love when the holidays roll around and I can get bath bombs shaped like snowmen and other holiday shapes.

Seriously, check out: http://www.lushusa.com. You won’t regret it!

After a rather brief “break” to get myself together…

I’M BACK!!!

I told myself that I had to re-up with WW’s by the end of the month and I was feeling the itch to get on with things towards the end of last week. So, I gathered myself and went back to a meeting Sunday at 12:30. I had the receptionist start me fresh in a new book with a new 5% and 10% goals.

It feels wonderful to have a clean start.

In other news, I’ve started working out with one of my coworkers. She is a certified personal trainer and also teaches at the local college. She’s kind of taken me under her wing and offered to work with me. Believe me, she’s pretty intense! I burned over 130 calories in under 7 minutes yesterday (according to my heart rate monitor!). I was surprised.

She asked me what my goals were for working out, whether it was a number on the scale or to tone or something like that. I’ve been thinking about my ultimate goals and I think that I would love to be at a healthy weight (BMI) and to be stronger overall. We are going to chat about it tomorrow!

So… New things are happening here!

And 8 days until PC moves in! I’m so excited!
